Why Is Joe Rogan So Popular?

WHY IS JOE ROGAN SO POPULAR?

He understands men in America better than most people do. The rest of the country should start paying attention.

Every morning of my Joe Rogan experience began the same way Joe Rogan begins his: with the mushroom coffee.

It’s a pour-and-stir powder made from lion’s mane and chaga—“two rock-star mushrooms,” according to Joe—and it’s made by a company called Four Sigmatic, a regular advertiser on Joe Rogan’s wildly popular podcast. As a coffee lover, the mere existence of mushroom coffee offends me. (“I’ll have your most delicious thing, made from your least delicious things, please,” a friend said, scornfully.) But it tastes fine, and even better after another cup of actual coffee.

Next, I took several vitamin supplements from a company called Onnit, whose core philosophy is “total human optimization” and whose website sells all kinds of wicked-cool fitness gear—a Darth Vader kettlebell ($199.95); a 50-foot roll of two-and-a-half-inch-thick battle rope ($249.95); a 25-pound quad mace ($147.95), which according to one fitness-equipment site is a weapon dating back to 11th-century Persia. I stuck to the health products, though, because you know how it goes—you buy one quad mace and soon your apartment is filled with them. I stirred a packet of Onnit Gut Health

Katt Williams‘ incendiary appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay has yielded several responses from people mentioned during the interview. Joe Rogan recently addressed the comedian’s claim that he wasn’t wanted on The Joe Rogan Experience.

“Joe don’t want me on there,” Williams said during the Wednesday (Jan. 3) interview. “I need to be on Shannon. Joe got six comedians that never been funny he wanna push out. But that’s really how it is.” This soundbite was among the many clips from the interview that went viral on social media.

Rogan jumped on X, formerly known as Twitter, to address these comments. “I love Katt,” he wrote on Thursday (Jan. 4). “He’s one of my favorite comics and I’d love to have him on. We talk about him all the time. If he’s down I’ll make it happen.” Check out the clip and Rogan’s tweet below.

Katt Williams’ nearly three-hour interview also took aim at several of his peers in comedy, namely Steve Harvey, Cedric The Entertainer, Kevin Hart, and more. Williams doubled down on the allegation that the Barbershop actor stole his joke, which Cedric addressed in his appearance on Club Shay Shay in November 2022.

“He thought that I was just a no-name comedian, and that he could take this joke and nobody would know,” he said. “The issue was that I had already done this particular joke on BET’s ComicView twice. It had done so well… that they made it part of the commercial. This is not just a random joke, this is my best joke…it’s my closing joke.”

He claimed that Cedric The Entertainer attended the comedy show where he first said the joke and even fellowshipped with him afterward. Two years later, he was using the same joke on The Original Kings Of Comedy. Cedric has since responded to Williams, stating that his “tough talk” is “corny” after the latter said he would’ve punched him in the stomach. Check out the clip below.

Joe Rogan left red-faced as he incorrectly blames Trump gaffe on Biden

Controversial podcast host was fact-checked and schooled by his own team in embarrassing on-air moment

Joe Rogan has been left red-faced after he incorrectly blamed one of Donald Trump’s gaffes on President Joe Biden.

The controversial podcast host went on a rant on his show this week, mocking the Democratic president for making “no sense at all” and questioning his mental competence – a favourite pasttime of conservative figures.

In the segment, during an interview with MMA fighter Bo Nickal, Rogan claimed that Mr Biden had recently incorrectly claimed that the US lost the Revolutionary War because “they didn’t have enough airports”.

As the two men cracked up laughing, Rogan even went as far as to say that Mr Biden should be “done” in his role as leader of the country for making the comments.

“Pull him. If you had any other job, and you were talking like that, they would go: ‘Hey, you’re done,’” he said.

But, it turned out that the comments weren’t made by Mr Biden at all – but were actually said by former Republican president Mr Trump.

And Rogan’s own team was only too willing to fact check about this live on air.

A producer informed the podcast host that, when Mr Biden spoke on the subject, he was actually mocking Mr Trump for his comments.

“It’s not fake but he was referencing Trump saying that,” the producer said.

An awkward moment ensued where Rogan and his guest were forced to sit and listen to the clip.

“The same ‘stable genius’ said the biggest problem we had during the Revolutionary War is we didn’t have enough airports!” Mr Biden is heard saying of Mr Trump.

Rogan was also treated to a video of Mr Trump’s remarks during his Fourth of July speech in 2019 – where he made the gaffe saying that the Army “took over the airports” from the British in the Revolutionary War.

“Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory,” he said.

Back in the late 18th century, there was of course no planes – let alone airports – used in the war.\

After a humiliating few seconds, Rogan conceded about Mr Trump: “Oh OK, so he f***ed up.”

Nickal also chimed in: “You can tell, too, he sounds a little different. You can tell he messed up his words… That’s the thing about media these days, you’ve got to look into it.”

Joe Rogan Is Ready and Waiting for Katt Williams

Keep your head on a swivel — you wouldn’t want to accidentally catch one of the counterpunches being thrown at Katt Williams after he took down a gaggle of comedians and celebs this week on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. We’ve already seen Kevin Hart and Cedric the Entertainer clap back at Williams’ pokes — today, it’s Joe Rogan’s turn to go public with his response.

Let’s start with the shade that Katt threw Rogan’s way. The comic is never a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience, Williams claims, because the cursing in his stage act keeps him out of popular comedy conversations. “If you were a comedian that cussed, you were ridiculed by the mainstream comedy-geist,” he told Sharpe. “That would be like me being on Joe Rogan. Joe don’t want me on there. I need to be on Shannon. Joe’s got six comedians that’s never been funny (that) he wants to push out. That’s really how it is.”

Before we get to Rogan’s response, let’s examine Katt’s premise here. Joe Rogan won’t talk to comedians who curse? Really? Then how does Williams explain recent guests like Shane Gillis, Whitney Cummings, Matt Rife, and dozens of lesser-known comics who throw around f-bombs like tennis balls at a dog park? There might be good reasons why Williams hasn’t appeared on Rogan’s podcast, but swearing on stage isn’t one of them.

And here’s some good news for Katt Williams — there’s a seat in the Joe Rogan Experience recording cave all warmed up and waiting for him.

“I love Katt,” Rogan tweeted last night. “He’s one of my favorite comics and I’d love to have him on. We talk about him all the time. If he’s down, I’ll make it happen.”

That puts the ball publicly in Katt Williams’ court, as Rogan’s tweet has been reposted more than 7,000 times and counting. It’s a no-lose proposition for Rogan — not that he needs the views, but Sharpe’s interview was watched more than 10 million times in a day, according to TMZ. A Joe Rogan/Katt Williams sitdown would mean massive eyeballs.

Maybe Rogan could invite Ludacris on for good measure. Katt Williams took on the Fast & Furious star as well during the Sharpe interview with some of his most out-there accusations yet. Williams claimed, apparently with a straight face, that Ludacris joined the Illuminati after selling his soul to the Fast & Furious franchise in exchange for $200 million. The comic also suggested that the Illuminati somehow stripped Ludacris of his Blackness, and took shots at the rapper’s “light-skinned ugly-face wife.”

Now Ludacris has responded with a diss track over a Kanye West instrumental aimed directly at Williams.

Choice lyrics include, “They throwing shade ‘cause n****s could never take my shine” and “Never been Illuminati, only Ill-Luda-nati/And I only left with bitches when coming from any party.” And then there’s this final warning to Katt. “Afro with the sideburns, yeah that’s my signature/Addiction’s on the rise, comedians check your temperature.”

What is Joe Rogan’s net worth and Salary?

Joe Rogan is an American comedian, actor, martial arts expert, UFC commentator, and podcast host who has a net worth of $120 million. Joe first became known as a cast member on the comedy series “News Radio.” He then went on to host the reality show “Fear Factor” as well as Comedy Central’s “The Man Show.”  Today Joe operates one of the most successful and powerful podcasts in the world and serves as the commentator for the UFC. In Austin, Texas, Joe owns and operates a comedy club called Comedy Mothership.

Salary Highlights

In 2017 we estimated that he conservatively earned $5 million per year from the podcast. Just prior to signing a massive exclusive deal with Spotify in May 2020, it had been speculated that Joe was earning $20 million per year from his podcast between sponsor reads and YouTube revenue.

It should also be noted that the podcast is just one of many sources of income for Joe. He still performs sold-out standup shows around the country and is the official commentator for UFC. He also earned millions as the host of the television series “Fear Factor” between 2001 and 2006.

Spotify Deal

On May 19, 2020, it was announced that Joe had signed a multi-year licensing deal with Spotify. The deal made Spotify the exclusive home of Rogan’s audio and video feeds. It also removed all of Joe’s archived episodes from YouTube and iTunes. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. It was not an acquisition. For comparison, about a month earlier, Spotify bought Bill Simmons’ podcast network, which is significantly smaller than Rogan’s, for $190 million upfront plus $50 million per year in ongoing content costs.

Let’s presume Joe was indeed making $20-30 million per year before this deal. And let’s say he signed a three-year deal. One could safely presume his Spotify contract was worth at least $100 million. Perhaps much much more, but most media outlets are guesstimating that he earned in the $100 million range.

In February 2022 it was revealed that Joe’s Spotify deal was actually much MUCH larger than had been previously reported and assumed. Joe’s deal actually pays $200 million over three years. Also known as $67 million per year. Though, it should be noted that the deal value would also include his production costs. For example, when you hear that Howard Stern has signed a $500 million deal, not all of that money goes to Howard. The vast majority does but whatever amounts get paid to production staff and co-stars comes out of that budget as well. As you may know, Joe’s show is very bare-bones in terms of production budget. Therefore, it would be safe to presume that Joe’s annual salary from Spotify is at least $60 million. Maybe closer to $65 million.

In February 2022, Spotify removed 113 episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast for having insensitive language and perceived racist undertones.

He did his first UFC interview at UFC 12: Judgement Day on February 7, 1997.  Rogan became friends with UFC’s then-new president Dana White, who offered him a job as a color commentator but Rogan initially declined.

In 2002, White was finally able to hire Rogan for free in exchange for event tickets for him and his friends. After about 15 free gigs as commentator Rogan agreed to be paid for the job. Rogan won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Award for Best Television Announcer twice and was named MMA Personality of the Year four times by the World MMA Awards.

Podcast career

In December 2009, Rogan launched a free podcast with his friend and fellow comedian Brian Redban. The first episode was recorded on December 24 and was initially a live weekly broadcast on Ustream, with Rogan and Redban “sitting in front of laptops bullshitting.” By August 2010, the podcast was named The Joe Rogan Experience. The podcast features an array of guests who discuss current events, political views, philosophy, comedy, hobbies, and numerous other topics.  It is one of the most popular free podcasts available.

In 2022, it was reported that video platform Rumble offered Rogan $100 million to switch over from Spotify. Variety magazine stated that he declined the offer.

Personal Life

Rogan married Jessica Ditzel, a former cocktail waitress, in 2009. They have two daughters; the first was born in 2008 and the second in 2010. Rogan is also a stepfather to Ditzel’s daughter from a previous relationship.

He personally holds black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwondo, and 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu. He holds a blue belt in Judo.

Rogan was not pleased when he initially discovered he was balding and tried a number of methods from medication to hair transplants to hang onto his hair.

Rogan has used his comedy and podcast to discuss his support of drugs such as cannabis, mushrooms, and DMT. Rogan is a public supporter of the recreational and medical use of those drugs. He was featured in a marijuana documentary titled “The Union: The Business Behind Getting High,” and reportedly has an isolation tank in his home that is supposed to foster a natural production of DMT.

Political Views

In April 2020, Rogan said he’d rather vote for Donald Trump than Joe Biden. Previously, Rogan had endorsed Bernie Sanders for president. According to a Fox News report, after Joe Rogan said that he’d rather vote for Donald Trump instead of Joe Biden, Twitter went off the rails with people demanding that YouTube and Twitter cancel him. This had little to no effect on Rogan’s supporters since they are largely libertarian/centrists. In fact, his base has grown since this incident

In July 2020, he called video games a “waste of time,” something which is SURE to ANGER his fanbase. Many are calling him an idiot and a traitor.

In 2020, Rogan announced that he was leaving Los Angeles and moving to Texas. In an interview, he said: “If California continues to be this restrictive, I don’t know if this is a good place to live,” he explained. “I might jet. I’m not kidding. I’m not kidding, this is silly. I don’t need to be here.” One Twitter user said “…Reason Joe Rogan is actually leaving CA for TX: CA has a 13.3% income tax bracket for +$1,000,000 annual. TX has no income tax. Rogan started a $100 million dollar deal with Spotify on Sept. 1.” [Editor’s Note:  It should be noted that at quoted Tweet should read annually, not annual, that is the mistake of the author of the Tweet.]

In his podcast, Rogan said:

I’m going to go to Texas. I just want to go somewhere in the center of the country, somewhere [where] it’s easy to travel to both places and somewhere where you have a little bit more freedom.
